It was a tasty start with the Tacos. The Cowboy Chilli Beef Taco was simply irresistible. The chilli beef mince was so flavourful and cooked in a aromatic sauce. With a hint of spicd, we found it paired nicely with a light and refreshing Pico de Gallo. This was served in a home made tortilla that was light yet fragrant. Delicious.
The Crispy Chicken Taco certainly wasn’t bad either. The chicken was fried to a nice crisp, the crunchy outer enclosing a tender inner chicken breast. The lightly flavoured Mexican cheese was
The Classic Burger must not be missed. Bobby Dre’s has taken a seemingly pedestrian, stock standard burger to a whole new level. Starting off was the quality buns from Noisette, which was a toasted buttery brioche that held its structural integrity remarkably through and had a rich though not overwhelming sensation. Within, the Wagyu Beef Patty was absolutely sensational. The flavour was full and forward, and the coarse ground and perfectly balance of lean and fat ensured plenty of texture as well as juicy goodness. This was served with two slices of cheese, crisp lettuce, as well as a generous helping of house made Bobby Dre’s sauce that was creamy and slightly tangy. Overall a very tasty cheeseburger that exceeded expectations.
Of course we had to sample their monthly burger special, namely the Chilli Dancer. Within the buns, the once again flawless beef patty was accompanied by a bold chilli sauce as well as jalapenos that definitely kicked up the heat. Thankfully, the light Pico de Gallo and the melted cheese helped tone down the spice. For those looking for bold flavours, this is a must try.
An unassuming eatery situated next to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Bobby Dre’s is a cafe-turned-burger-joint that dishes up quality Tex-Mex inspired burgers.
With clear emphasis on utilising quality ingredients and making everything from sauces to tortillas in-house, you can count on a tasty and affordable feed that’s big on flavour, albeit the smaller sized burgers.
