- Huevos Benedictos
- Smoked Ham Hock Salad
- Vanilla and Mango Dream
It was a brilliant start with the Huevos Benedictos. Topped with two perfectly poached eggs and drizzled liberally with a creamy yet slightly spicy chipotle hollandaise sauce, the gorgeous egg yolk dropped down onto the crispy, textured hash. Sandwiched within were slices of nicely charred chorizo, it’s savoury flavours perfectly contrasted by the fresh salsa and avocado accompanying the dish. A bold flavoured, appetising dish that simply made your mouth water with each bite!
We also enjoyed the Smoked Ham Hock Salad. The generous helping of pulled ham hock was just divine, so succulent and juicy with a light smokey flavour accompanying a bold and forward pork sensation. This was served with a fresh, crisp salad dressed with beautiful, aromatic dukkah spices and an earthy beetroot hummus. Such a well balanced and tasty dish that satisfied without making you feel guilty in any way!
We rounded off on a sweet note with the Vanilla and Mango Dream. The stunning presentation made way for an amazing treat. The panna cotta itself was flawless, so silky smooth and jiggly, with the vanilla and mango components perfectly accompanying one another. On the side stood three delicate dollops of raspberry sauce that held together the panna cotta and the other components on the dish, namely the fresh fruits and crunchy muesli.
Temperance Society has been on or to-do list for a long time, and we are glad to report this visit did not disappoint one bit.
From the impeccable presentation, fresh ingredients to the balanced flavours and flawless execution, this has got to be one of the most impressive brunches we’ve indulged in for a long while!
Would Penguin Eat Again?
You bet! We can’t wait to explore more of their delicious menu, but that eggs benny alone is worth coming back for!
Penguineats would like to thank Temperance Society for inviting us.
