Our modified Betty’s Classic Stack was nothing short of spectacular. Loaded and filled to the brim, the burger perhaps combined all the best bits of each burger into one. The highlight must be the crumbed, fried mushrooms, which on this occasion was filled with melted Gouda and Gruyére cheese and offered up an amazing mushroom flavour and plenty of cheesy, juicy goodness. Sitting underneath was a thin though tasty beef patty. The course grind ensured plenty of texture and flavour, which was well complemented by a generous helping of flavourful melted cheese. It proved to be a great decision by adding an additional piece of Fried Chicken. Fried to a beautiful golden brown, the brittle, crunchy batter was well spiced and gave way to a tender and juicy inner. All served in a toasted brioche that was soft, fluffy and buttery, and complemented by plenty of fresh greens, it was definitely hard to fault a burger so well-executed as this.
The Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake Concrete surely didn’t disappoint either. The concrete itself was thick and creamy, with just enough richness to ensure a satisfying experience. A hint of tangy, zesty lemon curd managed to perfectly offset the sweetness throughout, while the refreshing taste of raspberries and occasional, doughy chunks of cheesecake provided an amazing textured experience. The cherry on top was of course the graham crumble, a necessity to any good cheesecake!
We are definitely glad to have finally visited Betty’s Burgers after such a long time. The burgers here were definitely one of the best ‘fast food’ burgers we’ve come across to date, and the concrete was just delightful. It’s truly a shame we haven’t stopped by sooner!
