It was a great start with the Chai Latte and Latte. The Chai Latte here definitely deserves a special mention, as it was exceptionally fragrant and absolutely loaded with an abundance of chai tea leaves and various other spices. Brewed with piping hot water and milk, the aromatic mixture offered up plenty of silky smooth and creamy flavour with just a hint of sweetness. This was definitely one of the best chai lattes we’ve ever come across!
The Beef Brisket Burger was an impressive sight. Sandwiched between the lightly toasted, fluffy buns, we found a generous helping of very juicy and very flavoursome beef brisket. The beef was slow cooked to great tenderness, lightly sweetened with a light barbecue sauce that also let the beef itself shine through. This was well complemented by crispy slices of lean bacon and a perfectly fried egg, with the yolk dripping down the sides. Rounding it all off was the refreshing lettuce and garlic salad providing a little zest to the burg. A traditional but unpretentious burger that definitely satisfied the tastebuds.
We also enjoyed the Cheddar Crusted Rosti. The beautifully presented stack was topped with a perfectly poached egg. Underneath sat an incredibly fresh mixture of avocado and chives, made even more creamy by an abundance mozzarella and ricotta cheese smeared on top. Sat at the bottom was arguably the tastiest but of the dish, the cheddar crusted potato Rosti itself. The lightly fried yet delicately crispy outer gave way to a cheesy and textured inner. Within, the potato mash was well seasoned and offered up a creamy sensation. We opted to add a side of pork hock to our rosti, which was an excellent choice as the pork was incredibly tender and flavourful, with an unapologetically bold pork flavour that simply melted in your mouth. Delicious.
The French Toast was stunningly presented, though arguably less spectacular in taste. Our rendition today seems to be totally off-menu, topping the two huge slices of french toast was a generous helping of light mascapone. While the outer was well-coated in an eggy batter that was fried to the perfect crisp golden brown, the inner, while soft and spongey, unfortunately didn’t quite have that beautiful egg flavour we were hoping for. However, this was all remedied by the smear of aptly tangy lemon-lime curd, offering up a refreshing zest. Served alongside were an abundance of sweet poached pears and exceptionally fresh strawberries, well contrasted by the pistachio crumbs scattered throughout that offered up plenty of crunch.
As an all-day eatery, Goathouse Cafe offered up a thoroughly enjoyable brunch fare that, while not overly creative, definitely satisfied the tastebuds.
Sampling from both the breakfast and lunch menu yielded consistently delicious results, with more traditional staples like Beef Brisket and Potato Rosti well-executed and being clear winners of our meal.

Definitely. Large, open spaces, friendly yet unobtrusive service, and most importantly delicious food and drinks – the perfect venue for a long, lazy meal out with friends or family!
