Nene Chicken (Box Hill)
- Bulgogi Fried Chicken Wings
With a pleasant sweet and savoury flavour, the Bulgogi sauce was appetising and tasty. The sticky sauce perfectly coated each wing’s outer, and offered up a tasty Korean flavour.
The wings themselves were less impressive however. Despite a long 20minute wait, one would expect piping hot, freshly fried wings. Not so on this occasion. They were served luke warm, and lacked the fresh, satisfying crunch we were hoping for. The protein within was tender and well-cooked, but lacked the flavours of the marinade.
We didn’t find the chicken at Nene overly impressive. However, if you are after some half-decent Korean Fried Chicken with a range of sauces to pick from, Nene might just do it.
